Battle For Jarrod
This is a benefit event for Jarrod Brodnax, an ex Mansfield Fireman and Paramedic that was injured while on duty and diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
After being injured on the job November 26, 2010, Jarrod has undergone several back and neck surgeries to repair the damage that occurred. Unfortunately, the surgeries have not been successful and Jarrod was diagnosed with ALS on November 8, 2011. He has a wonderful wife Melissa and two beautiful daughters; Maryn who is 4 years old and Larkyn who is 1 year old.
With this benefit we are striving to raise money to begin a college fund for Maryn and Larkyn, help with medical costs as well as to spread awareness about ALS.
The event will be fundraising and workouts! We will be doing a “Fireman Challenge,” which will be an obstacle course type setup. Also, we will be sticking to our roots and doing a CrossFit workout dedicated and made in honor of Jarrod. Participation in these events will be based on a donation of at least $20! We ask that everyone come join us if possible so we can have the best turnout and raise the most money possible for Jarrod and his family! His time is running out and we want to do what we can to make this benefit eventful and show support!
More info will follow so stay tuned!
